(Photo of American Coots ...) October Bird Walk - Glacial Drumlin Trail

It was a cold morning but beautiful with much sunshiine for our bonus October walk. The weather didn't keep anyone away. Sparrows seemed to dominate this walk, especially at first. They were mostly down low. As it warmed up activity picked up. We had great looks at Yellow-rumped Warblers and Golden-crowned Kinglets. Waterfowl hunters probably kept the numbers of ducks and geese down. We did see some anyway, including Horned Grebes! Also a huge raft of American Coots. There's a full list of birds seen below.

This was the last walk of the season, a season that produced many fun bird sightings. We thank everyone who joined us on the walks. Birding with good companions is a very special treat. We hope to see everyone for next season's bird walks.

Special thanks to Aaron Stutz and Karen Etter Hale for the excellent report, below.
