Explore the Wonder of Birding in Jefferson, Dodge and Surrounding Counties.
Affiliaited with the Madison Audubon Society
Welcome to the website for the Jefferson County, Dodge County and surrounding area bird walks! Here you can find information on the walks we will be holding throughout the year including when they will be held, where to meet us for the walks, and any last minute information about the walks.
We hold our walks on the third weekend of every month, April through September. We will also hold additional walks from time to time when appropriate. All walks are open to the public, and are free. All ages and experience levels are welcome. We recommend you bring binoculars if you have them, and wear comfortable walking shoes.
You can find information on each walk below. Be sure to check back often to keep up to date on any newly added walks and to have the latest information on previously scheduled walks. If weather or other circumstances force a change, we will post updated information on this site and also send an announcement to subscribers to our announcement mailing list. Click on "Contacts" below to join the list.
The walks will be led by experienced birders. Leaders include Nolan Kollath, lifelong birder and former instructor at Madison Area Technical College, Watertown; and Brad and Royan Webb, members of the Horicon Marsh Bird Club and participants in the Horicon Marsh Bird Festival.
