(end). Jefferson-Dodge Birding Walk led by Brad Webb and Karen Etter Hale, with 6
attendees, mostly from the Lake Mills area.
Walked from the Elm Point parking lot clockwise up through the prairie (many blooming
prairie flowers!) to the upper shelter, where a family was flying a large Toucan kite.
Made our way down the paved trail to the lake, then along the lake past
the Osprey platform (parent with THREE nestlings!) and back to the Elm Point parking
lot.
Saw only a few butterflies, a single dragonfly, 1 E. chipmunk (in a mulberry tree);
heard one 13-lined ground squirrel and single bullfrog. It was a lovely morning to be
out.
