July Bird Walk - Glacial Drumlin Trail
Our July walk will be on the Glacial Drumlin Trail near Lake Mills. We'll be walking from Korth Park to Rock Lake. Temperatures should be mild Saturday (18th) though rain is possible. There is some shade along the trail which is one reason we picked it. The UV index has been high most of this month so any shade is a plus. The trail always provides good birding! We should see a variety of resident species and maybe some migrating shore birds. We'll meet at the Elm Point Road shelter in Korth Park. That is the same meeting place as for the June walk. There's a good parking lot there and restrooms as well. We will walk to the trail from there, then head east to the lake.
We'll meet at 8:30 AM on Saturday, July 18 - this Saturday. As usual the walk will last about three hours. Wear good walking shoes and bring binoculars if you have them. Scopes might be helpful when we look for waterfowl on Rock Lake. We will have at least one scope with us but bring your own if you wish. We hope you can join us!
