(Photo of American White Pelican ...) July Bird Walk - Horicon Marsh trails

Six brave birders took on the heat and humidity for our July walk at the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge. The heat almost won, however. After about an hour on the trails, during which we saw many fun to see birds, we made a consensus decision. We headed back to the trail head. There we formed a two car caravan and visited the hot spots along the auto tour (aka "Tern Pike"). This proved to be a great idea as we added many more interesting bird sightings to our list. Speaking of the list, we're presenting it in a new manner below. You'll see a link to the e-bird list this time. Once at e-bird, you can click on the "7 Checklists" box to see all the sub-lists that make up the report. There are very interesting comments in the sub-lists so please don't ignore them.

If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you can join us for an upcoming one. You never know what you might miss if you aren't part of the walk group!

Here is the link to the July birdwalk species list. Thanks to Karen Etter Hale for putting this together for us!
