(Photo of Glossy Ibis ...) May Bird Walk - Northern & Dike Roads, Hwy 49

We had a small group but a beautiful day for today's walk. Decent temperatures, no precipitation, gentle winds and lots of interesting birds. In fact, some very special birds indeed were seen on this walk. We spent time on Northern Road, Dike Road and then added a visit to Highway 49 so besides walking, we did do a bit of driving.

Special "treats of the day" included Black Necked Stilts, a Whooping Crane, Ruddy Turnstones, Glossy Ibises, Wilson's Phaleropes and many Redstart Warblers among several warblers who showed up. There were smiles all around today! We can't promise such a collection of birds every time, but today a number of unusual birds lined up to let us have a look. A complete list is below.

If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you can join us for one of the others in this series.
