(Photo of Tree Swallow ...) May Bird Walk - Northern Road

The strong wind and cooler temperatures kept the number of birders down - but not the number of birds! Actually, Northern Road at Horicon Marsh is mostly sheilded from the wind so the weather was not a problem. The birds, however, were spectacular for those who attended our walk and the birders we met up with at the site.

Special "treats of the day" included a Golden Winged Warbler, not something you see often, and a Barred Owl that payed us a long visit allowing close looks. We had 14 warbler species and 58 species over-all. Check the list of species seen below for details.

If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you can join us for one of the others in this series.
