June Walk

(Photo of Black Tern ...) June Bird Walk - Rose Lake

We had an absolutely beautiful day for a June bird walk. Several birders gathered at the park, then moved first to the lake overlook deck. There were a number of birds on the lake itself and around the overlook. A special treat was a large number of Black Terns. Several birders got to watch the exchange of parents on a Pied Billed Grebe nest through scopes.

We also walked the trails to the grassland at the end of lake, serenaded by many birds including several Red Eyed Vireos. We completed the walk by heading through the prairie restoration which was fairly quiet but did provide looks at Eastern Bluebirds.

If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you can join us for one of the others in this series.
