July Bird Walk - Korth Park Prairie

A grand total of two brave (?) people took part in our July walk in the prairie at Korth Park. The reason for the low number was certainly the 100% chance of rain during the walk. As it turned out, we were able to walk for about 45 minutes before the increasing rain - and the possibility of lightening - made us terminate the walk. The lightening seemed to have lessened but being two walking lightening rods in the middle of the prairie still didn't seem like a good idea. We did get wet!

Despite the difficult weather situation, the walk was worthwhile. The prairie is beautiful at present. We were able to tally 19 different species in the short time we were walking, plus we saw a few birds we couldn't identify due to poor lighting, etc. There is a complete list of species seen below.
