April Walk

(Photo of Tree Swallow ...) April Bird Walk - Zeloski Marsh

Despite a few showers at the end of the walk, we had an enjoyable session seeing which birds were available in the various habitats at Zeloski Marsh. We had many waterfowl species and individuals, but only a few hard to see shorebirds. The water level was just a bit high for them. One of most awe inspiring sights was an overflight by a small flock of Great Egrets. They are seldom seen in flight in any size flock, so this was a real treat. We were also delighted to see both Green Winged and Blue Winged Teal have returned to the marsh.

Birders of several skill levels joined us for the walk, with everyone helping each other to see most of the birds. Thanks to all who participated!

If you couldn't be with us for this walk, we hope you can join us for one of the others in this series.
